Public outreach activities are crucial to our project. ARETI will disseminate its findings to the public, especially to young schoolchildren through hands-on activities (e.g. sorting and identifying cattle elements as well as identifying cattle pathologies, story-telling and clay cattle figurine making) and an animated interactive video, which will present in brief the diachronic history of cattle on the island. Our activities will be hosted in several public spaces and museums across the island, including the Cyprus Natural History Museum. STAY TUNED!

Anna Spyrou, presented her current work on zebu cattle, entitled “From South Asia to the Eastern Mediterranean: Zebu cattle in the iconography and nature of Late Bronze Age Cyprus”. The #research focuses on exploring the physical presence of zebu, a subspecies of cattle that is native to South Asia, on prehistoric #Cyprus, through iconography.
